Rural State House Candidate Goes Live with New Broadcast Ads in Yuma Media Market

In one of Arizona’s largest districts, Matias Rosales brings his message to voters in both Spanish and English

Yuma, Ariz. – Today, Democratic nominee for State House in Legislative District 23 (LD 23) Matias Rosales debuted new television broadcast ads in both English and Spanish in the Yuma media market. Stretching from Tucson to Goodyear and San Luis, LD 23 is geographically the largest– and one of the most critical– battleground districts in the state . The border district presents a pick up opportunity for Democrats, who currently hold two of the three seats. The two ads follow recent Democratic investments in the Tucson and Phoenix markets.

The ads features Rosales, a 12-year San Luis City Councilman, and centers the issues of reproductive rights and education. A father of four, Rosales says he will “always put family first,” including by fully funding Arizona schools to benefit all families.

Rosales’s family-first platform contrasts with the record of his opponent, Republican Michele Peña. In her first term, Peña repeatedly voted to block a repeal of the near-total 1864 abortion ban, which provided no exception for rape or incest. Committed instead to moving Arizona forward, Rosales says he will keep government, “out of the personal decisions that should be made by families and doctors, not politicians.”

“Councilman Rosales has a proven record of getting things done to make life better for his community,” said ADLCC Executive Director Elsa O’Callaghan. “He’s secured hundreds of millions of dollars for infrastructure projects, helped thousands find their first home, and built  San Luis into a growing and thriving city. Voters deserve a dedicated public servant like Matias Rosales at the capitol.”
