The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

Democratic bills get support through committee hearings

The Good:

This week Democrats successfully pushed HB2213 the free school lunches bill through the appropriations committee, moving it one step closer to getting signed into law.

We would also like to congratulate Rep. Alma Hernandez, Rep. Consuelo Hernandez, Rep. Aaron Marquez, and Rep. Cesar Aguilar for getting their bills passed through committee.

The Bad:

Two bills making it harder to vote are headed to the Governor's desk. These bills would shorten the early voting deadline making the Friday before election day the last day one could drip off their early ballots.

The Ugly:

Instead of focusing on the issues affecting Arizonans, Republicans continue to move their anti-trans bills to the Governor's desk.

These two bills have made it through their original chambers and now will be crossed over, HB2062 to the Senate and SB1003 to the House.

These bills mirror the exact ones that were vetoed last year by the governor.
