PRESS RELEASE: Arizona Democrats Hold Roe Weekend of Action to Protect Access to Reproductive Healthcare 

Arizona - Last weekend, Arizona Democrats held a statewide Roe Weekend of Action to commemorate the second anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v Wade. As part of the Weekend of Action, Democrats launched canvasses in the most competitive legislative districts throughout the state to talk to voters. 

 

Throughout the Weekend of Action, competitive legislative districts hosted surrogates including Arizona Democratic Party Chair Yolanda Bejarano, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Senate Minority Leader Mitzi Epstein, Attorney General Kris Mayes, ADLCC Chair Priya Sundareshan, and Reproductive Freedom For All Campaigns Director Athena Salman. 

 

“Abortion and reproductive freedom are mobilizing issues for voters and volunteers”, said ADLCC Executive Director Elsa O’Callaghan. “Arizonans are fired up to elect a legislature that will preserve our rights, and establish protected access to abortion and reproductive healthcare.”

 LD9 in Mesa welcomed Secretary Deb Haaland on Saturday and Attorney General Kris Mayes on Sunday. 

LD16 in Casa Grande hosted Chairwoman Yolanda Bejarano.

LD2 and LD27 located in North Phoenix did a joint launch with special guest Senator Mitzi Epstein. 

LD13 in Gilbert welcomed Athena Salman to kickoff their canvass. 

LD17 in Oro Valley hosted Senator Sundareshan.
