Release: State Senate Candidate Eva Burch Raises Over $110,000 in Q2Strong Numbers

A Clear Sign Voters Are Ready for New Leadership

PHOENIX, AZ – State Senate Candidate Eva Burch, running in the newly formed Legislative District 9, has posted strong fundraising numbers at the close of Q2 – outraising every other Democrat this quarter. Burch’s campaign raised $111,647 – in spite of this being her very first run for public office. This quarter alone, she has more than 6,000 individual contributors.

Burch is a nurse practitioner, whose focus is on reproductive health. She worked as an ER nurse for several years prior to that. Burch has focused her campaign on improving education here in Arizona and protecting access to reproductive health care – talking openly about her own experiences struggling through college as a single mother and having an abortion earlier this year after experiencing a non-viable pregnancy.

“The landscape is changing in Arizona. People are tired of the malignant party politics that prevent us from passing meaningful legislation that has overwhelming popular support,” said Burch. “This effort to break down our public education system and to dismantle reproductive rights is not resonating with the Mesa residents I talk to every day. The people of Arizona have been clear on this, and we are all exhausted from watching our legislators refuse to represent our values. All eyes are on Arizona, and I am encouraged to see the support for candidates who will defend civil liberties at the local level.”

Burch is running in Legislative District 9 alongside candidates for the State House, small business owner Seth Blattman and educator and community leader, Lorena Austin.
