Release: Democratic State Senate Nominees Hit the Airwaves with Four Ads Centered Around Abortion, Education

Sen. Christine Marsh, Eva Burch, Jeanne Casteen, and Cindy Hans debut ads in the final stretch of the campaign

PHOENIX, AZ – State Senate nominees in four battleground districts debut ads hitting the Phoenix media market as Maricopa County voters receive ballots in the mail this week. Four candidates debuted ads including Senate Nominee Jeanne Casteen for Legislative District 2, Sen. Christine Marsh for Legislative District 4, Senate Nominee Eva Burch for Legislative District 9, and Senate Nominee Cindy Hans for Legislative District 13.

Ads featuring Burch and Marsh center on abortion, an issue that has become a top concern for voters ahead of midterms in the wake of the Dobbs decision and the 15-week ban on abortion, sponsored by Senator Nancy Barto, who Marsh faces in the upcoming election.

Additional ads for Senate candidates focus on Arizona’s education crisis, and specifically, the additional burden teachers face with large class sizes – a problem that is widespread in Arizona.

“Everything is on the line this year, and at the ADLCC, we are investing deeply in competitive races that will give us the best opportunity to win in November. Our candidates carry the personal, professional, and lived experience to solve the biggest challenges facing Arizona,” said Elsa O’Callaghan, Executive Director at the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.

“A candidate like Eva Burch who is a healthcare provider specializing in women’s health is the type of legislator desperately needed at the State Capitol, where laws are being decided about women’s bodies daily.” Similarly, Senator Christine Marsh, Jeanne Casteen, and Cindy Hans, who have a combined experience of nearly 65 years in the classroom possess the real experience to make decisions that will improve the lives of our students and teachers.
