ADLCC Board Member Senator Lela Alston Denounces Creation of Separate Committee For Director Nominations in the Senate

PHOENIX, AZ – Today at 2 P.M. is the first committee hearing for the new Senate Committee on Director Nominations. ADLCC Board Member Senator Lela Alston has released the following statement:

“It is no coincidence that with the first Democratic Governor in over a decade, Republicans are ready to introduce more hurdles to the governing process. Republicans have long claimed to be the party of small government, but this addition of an unnecessary committee displays that the ends justify the means."

“Arizonans count on their government to work, and Republicans are slowing down that process with cheap power grabs and obstructionism. We cannot continue to waste more time in the legislature. Arizona’s housing and water crises and rising costs for families deserve immediate attention. It is time that we get to work for people across the state on real issues.”
