Tax Cuts for the Wealthiest in Leaked GOP Budget Documents

Reporters finally got their hands on a copy of the budget spreadsheets being floated by Republican leaders in the House and Senate. Their proposal includes a $1.3 billion tax cut for the wealthiest Arizonans, a 20% pay increase for corrections officers, and a $425 million investment into our rainy day fund for a future rainy day.

When Democrats are in the majority, we will fight to increase per-pupil spending and reduce classroom sizes to increase the number of qualified educators in our public schools. 
 

Democrats Pass The Only Consumer Protection Bills of the Session

Doug Ducey signed another Democratic bill into law this week and only the second consumer protection bill of the session.

Assistant Leader, Rep. Jennifer Longdon’s bill, HB2438 to reform the massage therapy license process to include fingerprint clearance cards and to post both disciplinary and non-disciplinary actions against a licensed massage therapist online.

The governor also signed Rep. Diego Espinosa’s HB2652 earlier last month. That bill would deem it unlawful for a person to solicit, advertise or possess a used catalytic converter.
 

Clarence Thomas’ Wife Talked to 29 Republican Legislators About Stealing the 2020 Presidential Election

A few weeks ago the Washington Post reported that Justice Thomas’s wife emailed  Rep. Shawnna Bolick and Speaker Rusty Bowers to pressure them into changing their votes at the meeting of the Electoral College in December of 2020.

Come to find out because of a public records request by The Washington Post, they obtained an additional 27 emails showing Ginni Thomas reached out to 29 Arizona Republican state lawmakers to see if there was an appetite to overthrow a democratically held presidential election in the United States of America.
