U.S. Treasury & Governor Ducey

Friday, the U.S. Treasury Department sent another letter to the Ducey Administration that they must stop administering programs that undermine evidence-based efforts to stop the spread of COVID or start a process to recoup the money that is being misused in the next 60 days.

Now, Arizona taxpayers could be on the hook for over $163 million in federal relief funds, because Governor Ducey misused American Rescue Plan dollars by giving school districts up to $1,800 per pupil in grants if they did not adopt a mask mandate.

We must hold Governor Ducey and his supporters accountable for withholding funds from Arizona’s schools in a political game. This is just another example of his inability to combat the pandemic. We need to deliver a Democratic majority to protect our kids.
