Rep. Shawnna Bolick Wants to Undermine the Election

Bolick has a history of flouting the law for personal gain

PHOENIX — Representative Shawnna Bolick and other GOP officials are working with the Donald Trump-aligned American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) to call the validity of the election into question if Trump doesn’t win Arizona, according to newly unearthed recordings. ALEC has partnered with Republican attorneys to determine what actions state legislators can take to undermine the election’s legitimacy after the votes have been counted, and Bolick chairs one of their secretive working groups geared toward election law and ballot integrity.

This is just the latest example of Bolick placing herself above the law. Earlier this year, she was taken to court after listing a UPS store instead of her residential address on her candidate nomination and sworn affidavits. Bolick has consistently prioritized her own personal gain above the will of Arizonans, and it’s time for voters to show her the door.

“If Representative Bolick refuses to abide by our laws, she shouldn’t be in Phoenix helping create them,” said Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Executive Director Charlie Fisher. “Democrats are on total offense at all levels of the ballot, so Bolick and her right-wing extremist allies are grasping at straws to hold onto power. Anti-democratic tactics like these make each individual vote all the more important, and we’re going to fight for every last one."

Democrats need to win just two seats in the House and three seats in the Senate to flip the legislature from red to blue for the first time in over half a century.
