Release: 114 Democratic Candidates File for Legislative Office

PHOENIX — Since 2016 the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee has seen a surge in candidates and volunteers that are committed to moving Arizona forward. Candidates have stepped up to run for legislative office in every part of Arizona along with hundreds of volunteers who have knocked on thousands of doors and have made thousands of phone calls to voters. Their passion for their hometowns has led to over 114 Democratic candidates qualifying for the ballot this November.

Not only have we worked to ensure that Democratic candidates are running in every legislative district but we have also sought candidates that reflect the values of their community. We are proud to have over 50 women running for office, 51 people of color, 28 incumbents, 11 members of the LGBTQIA community, and 5 current K-12 Teachers.

“We are in awe of the sheer number of qualified and diverse candidates that have stepped up to run for the legislature. Democratic candidates are truly representative of our great state. They are educators, ranchers, health care workers and small business owners and they are working hard to win in November.” - Charlie Fisher, ADLCC Executive Director

We firmly believe that Democrats are poised to win a majority in the Senate and pick up several seats in the House this November. This year we have seen an ever-growing grassroots energy in our state with a focused on education, healthcare, workers rights, and gun safety that our Democratic candidates are ready to tackle next year in the legislature. We at the ADLCC will be working every day with hundreds of volunteers to ensure that our candidates win this November.
