This past session, a floor amendment to SB1241, sponsored by Rep. John Kavanagh on behalf of Sen. Kelly Townsend, contained unnecessary provisions that would have required if the signature on a ballot envelope doesn't match the signature on file to be investigated by the Attorney General. These provisions disproportionately single out young people, people of color, and voters with disabilities from criminal scrutiny based on a political agenda.

Last year, even her Republican colleague, Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita, blocked almost 20 of Sen. Townsend’s democracy conspiracy, vote-doubting bills from being heard in the same committee Senator Townsend will soon chair.
