PRESS RELEASE: Sen. Priya Sundareshan and Rep. Jennifer Pawlik Elected As ADLCC Co-Chairs

The board also welcomes Assistant House Leader Oscar De Los Santos

PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is proud to announce that Senator Priya Sundareshan and Representative Jennifer Pawlik have been elected as co-chairs of the executive board.  Representative Oscar De Los Santos, who is the Assistant House Leader, will also be joining the board.

Newly elected Board Co-Chair, Senator Priya Sundareshan is an MIT graduate and environmental attorney with a depth of experience in climate advocacy and natural resource protection. Senator Sundareshan, a Tucson native, was elected to the Senate in 2022 and has since been nationally recognized as an emerging legislative leader.

Senator Sundareshan will be serving with Representative Pawlik, who brings years of experience as a seasoned legislator and is a former battleground candidate. Representative Pawlik, who was the top vote-getter in the Legislative District 13 House race each of the three times she was elected, has direct insight, expertise, and a deep understanding of what it takes to win in competitive districts across Arizona.

“The tides are turning in Arizona, ” said Senator Priya Sundareshan. “Over the last decade, Arizona Democrats have made significant legislative gains. Now, approaching the 2024 cycle, Democrats are well poised to flip the Arizona legislature and deliver a Democratic trifecta for Governor Hobbs. Alongside Rep. Jennifer Pawlik, I am prepared to lead the ADLCC, its candidates, and staff to a successful 2024 cycle.”

“Legislative races are won and lost by razor-thin margins,” said Representative Jennifer Pawlik. “As a former battleground candidate in a competitive district, I know that what makes the difference is robust and strategic field programs. In battleground districts, the ADLCC prioritizes knocking on doors and talking to voters about the issues that matter to them and their families. That's how we have historically won in tough districts, and that's how we will flip the legislature in 2024.”
