NEW AD: LD-16 Republican Candidate Chris Lopez’ Tax Troubles Exposed
While hardworking Arizonans follow the rules, Chris Lopez has decided they don’t apply to him.
ARIZONA – The Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee has debuted a new digital ad in Legislative District 16 exposing Republican state house candidate Chris Lopez’s record of tanking businesses and dodging his taxes. The ads will hit voters’ screens from now until November 5th as they are actively filling out their ballots and heading to the polls.
Despite touting business experience to voters, the ad exposes that Lopez, a traveling carnival operator turned candidate, has been taking voters for a ride. The ad lays out Lopez’s real record: “three failed businesses, five ‘liens’, and thousands in unpaid taxes.”
While hardworking Arizonans struggle to get by, Lopez has gotten ahead–by cheating. A quick glance at one of his social accounts shows how he has afforded expensive international vacations– including one to the African bush, where he killed near-threatened wildlife– while refusing to pay his fair share.
“The contrast between Rep. Keith Seaman and his opponent couldn’t be clearer,” said ADLCC Executive Director Elsa O’Callaghan. “Rep. Seaman dedicated his life to serving students in public schools. He follows the rules and expects everyone else to as well. On the other hand, Lopez has decided they don’t apply to him: he’s dodging his taxes and expecting everyone else to pick up his tab.
“Paying taxes is a basic ask voters should have for those seeking elected office,” she added.
