ICYMI: New Poll: Democrats Lead Republicans in Legislative Races

In Case You Missed It, Democrats are leading Republicans 49%-46% on a generic ballot for the state legislature in the newly released AARP poll.

The poll also shows Democrats leading Republicans among independent voters.

With Arizona families facing rising costs of groceries, utility bills, gas, and housing, they’re looking for leaders to provide solutions to the biggest challenges impacting our communities.

Instead, here is what Republicans focused on in the legislature:

  • Republicans voted against expanding Medicaid

  • Republicans voted to allow insurance companies to stop covering pre-existing conditions

  • Republicans voted to make it easier for insurance companies to charge higher copays

  • Republicans voted to gut unemployment benefits for Arizonans who are laid off from work

  • Republicans voted to lower the minimum wage for some workers

  • Republicans voted to kick off 200,000 Arizonans off their healthcare

  • Republicans voted to make drastic cuts to SNAP benefits that feed Arizona children

  • Republicans in the legislature voted to cut $900 million from Arizona public schools
