ADLCC Debuts New Cable Ads Targeting Vulnerable Legislative Republicans
New cable ads target LD4’s Matt Gress and LD13’s Julie Willoughby and Jeff Weninger, support LD16 Representative Keith Seaman
Phoenix, Ariz. – Today, the ADLCC debuted a new series of cable TV ads in three of Arizona’s most competitive legislative districts. The ads will hit airwaves just one day before Arizonans can begin voting.
Two of the ads will target Representative Matt Gress from LD4 and Representative Julie Willoughby and Jeff Weninger from LD13, vulnerable Republicans with dangerous, extreme, and out-of-touch positions on abortion.
The majority of Arizonans believe in access to abortion but as the Gress ad highlights, he celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade and sponsored five fetal personhood bills. The ad also highlights Gress’ government career during which Arizona’s public schools have only gotten worse.
The Weninger and Willoughby ad underscores their record opposing access to abortion, even in cases of rape or incest. The ad ties the pair to Kari Lake’s brand of extremism and as candidates who won’t stand up for Arizonans.
In LD16, Democrat Rep. Keith Seaman is airing a new TV ad touting his credentials as a 40-year educator and bipartisan lawmaker. Among his proudest accomplishments mentioned in the half-minute video are voting with Republicans to increase border security funding and for tougher penalties for drug traffickers.
“In one day, Arizonans will begin voting and they have a choice between extremism and common sense,” said ADLCC Executive Director Elsa O’Callaghan. “As Arizonans prepare to head to the polls, it’s important that they do so with all the necessary information so that they can make informed decisions. This investment is just the latest way we are doing that.”
