A Critical Election Year for Arizona

PHOENIX — Following the April 6, 2020 candidate filing deadline for elected office, the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee released the following statement:

“The Arizona DLCC is proud to welcome a cohort of 81 Democratic legislative candidates running for office in 2020. The committee has worked tirelessly over the last year to recruit candidates throughout our great state.

These legislative candidates are diverse and truly representative of their communities from veterans to union members, teachers, small business owners, members of the LGBTQ community and are majority female and people of color. The Arizona DLCC is continuously inspired by the number of qualified candidates that have stepped up to run for the legislature in this critical election year.

Thoughtful and firm leadership is sorely needed at the state capitol, and the 2020 election presents a unique opportunity to win a majority in the Senate and House this November. We at the Arizona DLCC are excited to work alongside legislative candidates in every part of the state to ensure a Democratic majority in 2021.”
