Release: Republican Candidate, Frank Schmuck Wants to Increase Sales Tax on Working Families

“Republican Candidate, Frank Schmuck Wants to Increase Sales Tax on Working Families”

PHOENIX — Frank Schmuck, the Republican nominee for State Senate in District 18, campaigned in 2016 on eliminating the state income tax and increasing sale tax, representing a 4.1 billion dollar cut to state revenue.

This year, he's backtracking by suggesting a reduction of the state income tax instead of an outright elimination. However, any tax cut could lead to an increase in sales tax on hard-working families, further harm our underfunded school system, and potentially lead to devastating effects on funding for our police officers and firefighters.

"After Schmuck skipped the Clean Elections Debate, voters were wondering: will he show up for his community? With his extreme tax proposals, voters have their answer. Schmuck can't be trusted to put his district and its residents first,"said Charlie Fisher, ADLCC Executive Director.

Schmuck is too extreme for the GOP, too extreme for Arizona, and too extreme for District 18. Learn more at schmucktax.com
