Sen. Christine Marsh

I'm a proud Phoenician, a graduate of Arizona public schools, and a current State Senator. After attending UCLA on a track scholarship, I made the decision to come back home to Phoenix, where I raised my two sons and foster children and where I am in my fourth decade of teaching.

After 23 years in the classroom, I was honored to be named Arizona’s 2016 Teacher of the Year. That experience allowed me to travel the state and see first-hand the issues that public schools face.

While my experiences as a mother, teacher, and foster mother helped me make the decision to file for the State Senate, what truly motivates me is the need for more balance at the Capitol. One-party rule has stifled Arizona for too long, and our most vulnerable populations have been placed at risk. I have seen great bills fail to get a hearing and dangerous legislation sail through the legislature. We need a new legislative majority so that better ideas can get a fair hearing in our government.

Kelli Butler

I grew up in Arizona, in the Scottsdale and Arcadia neighborhoods. As a former three term state representative, I have a firm understanding of how policy impacts communities. I have experience crafting legislation around healthcare, including care for children and increasing access to health insurance.

As a business owner, my family experienced Arizona's economic downturn and we saw how it impacted our patients, employees, and our family. we donated dental services to Glendale's Neighborhood Christian Clinic and volunteered with Arizona's Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic.

Although my work experience began in the healthcare industry, I have become immersed in advocating for education. I am currently serving on the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board and have made tremendous strides in helping students and faculty.

With Democrats closing in on taking the majority, I knew the best way for me to make a difference in Arizona was to step up and advocate for the people in LD4.

Karen Gresham

I am a third-generation Arizona native and have deep roots in the state. I attended public schools and graduated from Arizona State University, earning a BS in Accountancy. After working as a CPA at Deloitte and Phelps Dodge, I retired from accounting to raise my three sons, Cole, Troy, and Noah.

Ever since then, I have volunteered in the classroom, on PTO boards, for public education candidates, and for several charitable organizations with the goal of creating a better Arizona. Having lost my mother to Leukemia, I find purpose in volunteering for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, advocating for public education, and championing critical public policy issues at the State Legislature.

As the current President of the Madison Elementary School District's governing board, I know what Arizona schools, teachers, and students need. I am deeply passionate about education and improving our schools. I am eager to get to the state legislature to deliver results to everyday Arizonans.
